| We don't want you talking about your "dream", we want you talking about your "experience." Don't Train Alone Become part of the finest MARATHON TRAINING PROGRAM anywhere. The "others" can talk a great program, we provide it. Following our 19 week Marathon Training Program, will prepare you physically and mentally to run the Bank of America Chicago Marathon this October 11, 2009. Our program follows the popular two build up weeks, followed by a cut back week. This proven method of training allows you to safely build your mileage base, thus decreasing your chance of injury. You will be taught to run more efficiently. You will also learn the importance of proper pace and hydration. STAFF We are very proud of our knowledgeable, experienced and friendly staff. Several of our staff have been involved in marathon training for the past 16 years. Others have been captains of the Nike Pacing Team at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. We have (2) 50-state marathoners on our staff and as of 2008, we've added a BADWATER 135 finisher. Pace groups from 6:30 minutes per mile through 13:00 minutes per mile will be offered. We have a NO DROP rule. NO ONE is left during training to fend for themselves. We had more than 125 marathoners FINISH the 2008 Bank of America Chicago Marathon Our Marathon Training Program includes mid week training runs as well as Speed Training for all levels of runners. It offers three levels of training: 1-First Timer 2-Previous Marathoner 3-Personal Record Gatorade is provided at ALL Sunday long runs, ALL Tuesday Speed Training sessions and ALL Thursday mid week runs. A pre/post “hospitality room” (capacity 300) is provided the day of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. This room is provided at NO ADDITIONAL cost to our members. NO standing in line for porta-pottys. We have rest rooms with hot and cold running water. Air conditioning too. Refreshments and massage therapists are also part of this special perk. CLINICS Educational clinics on such topics as: Proper Shoe Selection, Injury Prevention/Stretching, Proper Nutrition, Race Day and Beyond as well as our popular Kick Off presentation are all included in the Glen Ellyn Runners Marathon Training Program. THE COST OF MARATHON REGISTRATION IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS PROGRAM. PLEASE REGISTER FOR THE MARATHON ON YOUR OWN.
